Orthodontics is a field of stomatology which deals with correcting improper position of the teeth and jaw amongst other relations. The goal of orthodontics is not only to improve the aesthetics of the smile but to provide various health benefits like healthy chewing system, temporomandibular joint and muscles from surrounding tissue.

Proper position of teeth in the jaw and relation between upper and lower jaw allows steady transfer of chewing forces. This way, supporting tooh tissue and teeth are preserved from overloading excessive spending and decaying plus temporomandibular joint (TMJ) problems will rarely appear.

There are two types of dental braces:
fixed
mobile

The mobile braces are the ones that can be put on and off by the patient. Fixed braces or popularly called "braces" stay on patients teeth until the end of therapy. Fixed braces are installed directly in the patients mouth while mobile ones are made in labratory.

Orthodontic therapy can be successful at any age and grown-ups especially appreciate it because of the beautiful smile it provides. Orthodontic braces are not only for kids anymore. If the structure of the bones and gums is good, teeth can be set straight. Orthodontic therapy at an older age can improve confidence and appearance, but improving the health of the gums and teeth is equally important.

Incognito appliance system

Fixed orthodontic braces of the renowned German comapny 3M Unitek are one of the most advanced technological solutions in modern orthodontics. In comparison with majority of other braces, Incognito is made individually for each patient, every bracket is designed especially for each tooth and every wire is adjustied specifically for different phases of the therapy.

Advantages of Incognito device among other systems

fast therapy - all of the below mentioned elements are especially designed in order for Incognito to become the fastest orthodontic system in the world
gold alloy braces - allow high level of bracket polishing. This way the process of putting wire through the brackets is much easier.
individually made braces - computer design of brackets and CAD-CAM technology made it possible to create the thinest lingual bracket in the world. Their rounded design and the worlds biggest bracket surface made it possible to create strong connection between teeth and to lower the number of detached brackets.
computer controlled wire forming - computer controlled, robotically formed arch wires are produced for each phase of your treatment- all resulting in the highest level of orthodontic precision and unparalleled accuracy in tooth correction- delivering
invisibility - Incognito™ Hidden Braces are completely invisible so you can confidently smile through every event that life has to offer – from special occasions to everyday joy.
fast setup - Incognito braces are set up all at once. Time you need to spend in orthodontic chair while getting your braces is significantly shorter.
hypoallergenic material s - each bracket is cast in gold with precision design. Not only is the gold highly polished for additional comfort, but it also is safe for anyone that has Nickel allergies.
hygiene - lingual position of braces and low position of wire make teeth cleaning easier, even with tooth floos. Gold in braces is acting antibacterial and helps reducing plaque. Furthermore, scientific research showed low percentage of demineralized areas (white spots) on teeth while wearing gold lingual braces.

Invisalign - The Clear Alternative to Braces

Invisalign straightens teeth using a series of nearly invisible, removable aligners that are custom-made specifically for your teeth. As you replace each aligner every two weeks, your teeth will move – little by little, week by week, gradually moving towards the projected final position.

Comfortable, clear and removable – Invisalign transforms your smile without disrupting your life. Something that over 3 million people worldwide have already discovered.

Invisalign is the virtually invisible way to straighten your teeth and achieve the smile you've always dreamed of. Using advanced 3D computer-imaging technology, Invisalign depicts your complete treatment plan based on your Invisalign Provider’s prescription, from the initial position of your teeth to the final desired position. Then a series of clear aligners are custom-made for your teeth – and your teeth only – to move them little by little. Each aligner is worn for about two weeks before being replaced by the next in the series, gradually moving towards the projected final position. Your Invisalign treatment time will be determined by your Invisalign Provider (Orthodontist), based on your specific needs.

Invisalign aligners are nearly invisible. No one may even notice that you’re wearing these virtually invisible aligners, making Invisalign a seamless fit with your lifestyle and day-to-day interactions with others.

Invisalign aligners are removable giving you the flexibility to eat and drink what you want during treatment by simply removing the aligners. And you can also remove the aligners to brush and floss as you normally would for fresh breath and to maintain good oral hygiene.

Unlike traditional fixed braces, there are no metal brackets or wires. This means that in most cases less time is spent in your Invisalign Provider’s practice for adjustments.

And finally, Invisalign allows you to view your virtual results and treatment plan before you even begin treatment so you can see how your teeth are expected to look when your treatment is complete.

As with other types of orthodontic treatment, the cost of Invisalign is dependent on the complexity of your issue and your course of treatment (Invisalign® full, Invisalign® teen, Invisalign® lite, Invisalign® i7). As a general rule the cost is comparable to traditional fixed braces.

Appointment intervals are generally the same as with traditional braces but can be much quicker with less time spent in the dentists’ or orthodontists’ chair during appointments as no adjustments need to be made to wires/brackets. Patients typically visit their Invisalign Provider after 4 to 6 weeks (then afer 4-9 Months) to ensure the treatment is progressing as planned, and to receive their next few sets of Invisalign aligners, but your Invisalign Provider will decide based on your treatment.

The total duration of treatment depends on the complexity of the treatment and is generally comparable to that of traditional braces. Typically treatment can last between 9 and 18 months. During your consultation, your Invisalign Provider can provide you with more detailed information.

Aligners should be worn all the time during treatment, except when eating, brushing or flossing teeth.

The best way to clean your aligners is by brushing and rinsing them in lukewarm water and using the Invisalign Cleaning Crystals or special cleaning tablets. It’s important that you brush your teeth after each meal and prior to re-inserting your aligners to maintain proper hygiene.

Importance of oral hygene

While you are wearing braces, it is essential that you take special care of your mouth hygene. Different elements glued to the front surface of the teeth (rings, brackets, wires) make it difficult to access all teeth surfaces, so this often brings to appearance of dental plaque.

Good oral hygene is very important while your braces are in place. The best preventive measure is excellent oral hygene. You need to brush regularly and thoroughly. Some people say an electric or sonic wave toothbrush helps their teeth feel cleaner.

For teeth cleaning you can use normal toothbrush or special ones made for cleaning your teeth while wearing braces. These special toothbrushes are custumed so they can allow easier access to areas below the wires and brackets. In maintaining good oral hygene interdental brushes can also help because interdental areas are almost impossible to clean with normal toothbrush while wearing braces.
